Project 53 (P53) in cooperation with Mongolia’s National Biosafety Committee (NBC), organized a Laboratory Training-workshop on "Biosafety and Biosecurity” at the Food Safety National Reference laboratory of the State Specialized Inspection Agency last January 8-10, 2019.
Fifteen Mongolian specialists participated and received certification in this training, representing the National Emergency Management Agency, the General Laboratory of the Armed Forces, the General Authority for Border Control, National Police Agency, General Intelligence Agency, Internal troops 805th class, National Counter Terrorism Coordination Center.
The workshop-training was inaugurated by Ms. Bayarkhuu, Secretary of NBC and Chairwoman of the Food Safety National Reference Laboratory.
The program consisted of theoretical and practical laboratory exercises and training on biosafety and biosecurity, laboratory biosafety and biosecurity; human, livestock and zoonotic related infectious diseases, infectious agent biohazard levels, bioterrorism and bioethical issues and CBRN risk mitigation. This laboratory training was organized with the support of P53 project trainers and experts.
